One of the most difficult parts of being a new parent is lack of sleep. Here are a few products to help your newborn sleep better.
1. Swaddle blankets:
Back to sleep is best to prevent SIDS, however, newborns have a startle reflex that often prevents them from staying asleep when laying on their backs. Swaddling can be your best friend when putting your baby to sleep on their backs. The best swaddle blankets are large enough to grow with your baby but are also breathable. My favorite are these Muslin swaddles by Aiden and Anis. Find these here
Another great swaddle for those that are swaddling-challenged are these Cocoon Swaddles. These swaddles secure both the legs and shoulders but are easier to put on a squirming baby if you have trouble with the traditional swaddle blankets. These come in a variety of sizes and colors. You can find them here.
2. White Noise Machine
Newborns love white noise and sleep so much better when white noise is being played. Most parents learn very quickly that newborns respond very well to the sound of sushing. Here is a product that will do all the sushing for you! The Baby Susher is an essential product to help your baby sleep better.

3. Crib Vibrator
Newborns enjoy the sensation of gentle vibration. Some bassinets come with a vibration feature. You can also purchase a vibration device for placing under a crib mattress. The Lullevibe by Munchkin is a great product for this.

4. Pacifiers
Pacifiers are often frowned upon by new parents because they worry that their baby will still be using a pacifier when they are too old for one. Newborns have a natural need to pacify and pacifier use can help keep your baby calmer and asleep longer. Pacifier use has also been shown to reduce the risk of SIDS. If you are worried about your baby using a pacifier for too long, try to stop using a pacifier before your baby turns 10 months. Experts have shown that around 10 months of age, babies start to form strong attachments to thing like pacifiers, lovies, blankets etc. I really like the Soothie brand pacifier, but you may have to experiment to discover what pacifier your baby likes best.
5. The Snoo
When all else fails and your baby is still having trouble sleeping when not being held in your arms, it may be time to get The Snoo. The Snoo gently rocks your baby to help keep them calm. Although this item is on the pricier end, helping your baby sleep may be worth it. You can also find these second hand on Market Place and the company also offers a monthly rental of this product for cost savings. You can find this here
These are just a few products to help your newborn sleep. When those sleepless nights are getting you down, try one or all of these to help your newborn sleep better.
